This conference is prompted by the earlier success of the activities on FREE AND WALL BOUNDED SHEAR FLOWS: JETS, WAKES AND SEPARATED FLOWS.

The Fluid Engineering Division of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, JSME-FED, has organized a research group on "FUNDAMENTALS AND ADVANCES APPLICATIONS OF JET FLOWS".

This group has had many organized research sessions, including symposiums on FREE AND WALL BOUNDED SHEAR FLOWS: JETS, WAKES AND SEPARATED FLOWS at the past JSME meetings in Japan and the 3rd and 4th ASME/JSME Joint Fluids Engineering Conferences in San Francisco, 1999 and Honolulu, USA, 2003, respectively.

FREE AND WALL BOUNDED SHEAR FLOWS: JETS, WAKES AND SEPARATED FLOWS is one of the most important and interesting research subject in the fields of fluid mechanics and engineering.

This conference will assemble international, regional and national experts to discuss the latest results and advances in FREE AND WALL BOUNDED SHEAR FLOWS: JETS, WAKES AND SEPARATED FLOWS and evaluate future trends in its research and development.

We will expect to have a fruitful conference.
